Family Heritage 2013

The Event:
In 2013 McCune Successfully staged the Family Heritage Life Insurance Annual Winter Meeting in Los Angeles, CA. This meeting runs over 4 days and is complete with 2 General Sessions, Breakout meetings, Awards Ceremonies and Parties.

The Challenges:
The general sessions were large with over 500 sitting attendees. Ensuring the audience can hear and see everything clearly was the priority. For the awards ceremonies, our client wanted to bring the grace and style of Hollywood to their recognition ceremony. This was going to require making some changes to the look and feel of the ballroom to transform from "Meeting Mode" to "Awards Mode".

The Solutions:
In staging the annual conference, we utilized Meyer UPJ1P speakers. These were accompanied by Meyer 650-P subwoofers to deliver clear low end bass. This resulted in studio like intelligibility in every seat of the house, and sound you can actually feel without being overly loud. When it was time to go into awards mode, the Executive wooden lectern was replaced with a clear very modern looking Lucite podium, and brilliant LED Uplights were utilized all over the outside perimeter to bring new life and a fresh look to the ballroom walls. This combination of uplighting, teamed with our stage lighting, projection and sound systems made for a dynamic presentation, and a very pleased client. *All of these objectives were met, along with the breakout meetings and parties under our client's proposed budget.



TED 2008

The Event:
In 2008 McCune successfully staged the TED 2008 Conference in Monterey, CA and Aspen, CO for 1,500 + attendees.

The Challenges:
The event was film, produce, project, simulcast, and satellite broadcast in 1080/24p format, with simulcast sessions in Aspen Colorado, and incoming satellite feeds from Aspen, Colorado and Cambridge, England.

The Solutions:
In staging the TED2008 Conference in HD, McCune combined seven HDCameras, multiple HD and SD playback sources, and dozens of computer sources into discrete program streams, which were then simulcast to over one hundred monitors spread throughout rooms in two venues. All sources were ISO recorded in HD format for later editing, as well as a mixed recording for immediate production of DVD's. In all, over 60 different sources were used over the course of the conference.

Kaiser Branding and Marketing Conference 2008

The Event
In 2008 McCune worked with Kaiser Permanente to stage their 2008 Branding and Marketing meeting in San Jose, California. The event included 20 concurrent breakout sessions/workshops and a general session. The general session included live audio reinforcement for an audience of 1000+, SD image magnification and a custom designed set with a light design to accent the scenic elements.

The Challenges:
When McCune met with the client for pre-production meetings the client expressed concerns about how poorly the lighting was at her previous event the year prior and that the standard corporate-general-session backdrop of black drape was something she did not want. However the events budget was limited.

The Solutions:
McCune worked with one of its own resident lighting designers to help create a spectacular lighting design that was budget conscience and a custom designed set that would give a new exciting backdrop to Kaisers annual meeting.

Throughout the duration of the conference McCune heard nothing but positive feedback from the client as many Kaiser Employees were impressed by the scenic and lighting elements we created to help make their show unique.
